November-December 2013 – SSAC Liaison Report

1. SSAC MEETINGS. Attended SSAC Meetings on 7 November and 12 December.
2. ICANN48 (BUENOS AIRES) MEETINGS ATTENDED. Unfortunately I was unable to travel to Buenos Aires for this ICANN Meeting because of commitments in Australia that week, and so I have attended the main SSAC Sessions through remote participation:

3. RELEASE OF SSAC ADVISORIES. On 7 November, the SSAC released two advisories:
SAC062: SSAC ADVISORY CONCERNING THE MITIGATION OF NAME COLLISION RISK and
SAC063: SSAC ADVISORY ON DNSSEC KEY ROLLOVER IN THE ROOT ZONE
Both advisories were briefed at the Buenos Aires Meeting and the full reports can be found at http://www.icann.org/en/groups/ssac/documents.
4. SSAC WORK PARTIES. I am currently participating in two SSAC Work Parties:
- Identifier Abuse Metrics Work Party – I participated in meetings of this work party on 19 November and 5 December.
- DNS Abuse Work Party - I participated in a meeting of this work party on 12 December. This Work Party is close to finalising its report.
Additionally, although not a Work Party Member, I attended a meeting of the Name Collision Work Party on 31 October.
