What is ICANN
What is ICANN
ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) coordinates identifiers (domain names and IP numbers) on the Internet. To reach another person on the Internet you have to type an address into your computer. That address has to be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN coordinates these unique identifiers across the world. Without that coordination we wouldn't have one global Internet.
ICANN supports global participation and is committed to providing Internet users with the ability to engage in its work. But with a community as large as the Internet, it can seem difficult to see how any individual Internet user could have an impact on its management or policies. This is why ICANN has created “At-Large”.
