Biography of Steven Stroud
Steven graduated from the University of Melbourne and joined the Defence Signals Directorate in 1984 as a computer programmer. He has many years experience in systems design and project management. He joined the Directorate’s Information Security Group in late 2001 managing the computer security incident response and incident reporting programmes. In 2004 he became the Senior Technical Advisor in the Critical Infrastructure Protection Branch at the Attorney-General’s Department, moving to the Director National Information Infrastructure position in January 2006. Last year he took on the role of Director – e-Security Exercises and led the Australian involvement in the international Cyber Storm II exercise.
In addition to his undergraduate degree, he has an MBA from the University of Canberra. He is a member the Australian Institute of Management and the IEEE Computer Society.
