Registrant - Registrar Relations

Thanks to the interest of a number of community members, this new working group will look at the entire scope of the RAA (Registrar Accreditation Agreement), and recommend concrete steps to the larger At-Large community.

A new mailing list, RAA-WG, can be subscribed to from http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/raa-wg_atlarge-lists.icann.org.

This page will be populated with links and resources in due course. We hope you volunteer to join the debate!

RAA

As a consumer I would like to see all registrars force resellers to make public who will be hosting the domain. Resellers are failing to disclose this important data presenting a misleading perception that x company is the registrar when in fact they are not thus causing an entanglement and decline in consumer trust. Consumers have a right to choose as they must agree to the terms and conditions and when they fail to disclose up front the registrar of record prior to the transaction it is the same as payment and failure to deliver and forcing a consumer to do business with a company with out their consent or prior authorization. Example ACB domanin agent for Network.Solutions allows the consumer to recognize they are doing business in the USA. ABC company authorized domain registration agent for Two Cows alerts the consuemer they are subject to Canadian laws.

In the end full disclosure is imperative to the domaing purchaser.
