Federal Agent Steve Martin commenced duties with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in 1994 undertaking deployments within investigations and intelligence portfolio’s combating transnational crimes including narcotic importations, counter terrorism and money laundering offences.

Recent deployments include Staff Officer to Commissioner Keelty and Project Officer to National Manager Border and International Network, with a focus on strategic directions to combat specific emerging issues in the transnational crime environment.

As the Team Leader, High Tech Crime Investigations, Federal Agent Martin leads investigations into attacks against the Australia’s Critical and National Information Infrastructure. Additionally, he has previously led the Joint Banking and Financial Sector Investigation Team (JBFSIT), a joint AFP and Australian financial sector initiative dedicated to combating technical attacks against the e-commerce functionality of the Australian banking and financial sector.
