Action Items 11 June 2009

1/ ALS self-evaluation / participation criteria

H Diakite et M El Bashir will worked together in Sydney to define a series of participation criteria for AFRALO and an action plan.

2/ Draft AFRALO By-Laws

H Ullrich will contact Khaled to see if he can, with the assistance of Yaovi, finalize the AFRALO draft bylaws. If he cannot do it, H Ullrich will try to write a brief summary of the modifications suggested.

3/ Capacity-building within AFRALO

AFRALO members must send topics proposals for the teleconference briefings.

H Ullrich will send a reminder to the ALS to encourage them to submit topics proposals for these briefings.

Anne-Rachelle can contact the ALS to see whether she could present briefings.

Yaovi will add the proposal of a topic on the ICANN international meetings to the list of the possible subjects.

D Kasole will gather these proposals and see with At-Large staff whether a briefing can be arranged for the next teleconference

4/ Response to ICANN public consultations

Discuss further the need to develop a system that will allocate topics to specific members in function of their respective competences. (i.e.: if a member knows very well the issue on new gTLD, this member will be in charge of the follow up on that matter and can also give briefings on that subject)

5/ Travel support and Sydney

On 25 June 2009, D Kasole will represent AFRALO in the secretariats meeting between the RALOs. He will talk about the two recent AFRALO documents: the ALSes’self-evaluation and the document on capacity-building. F Seye Sylla asked him to discuss the AFRALO recent efforts regarding the draft AFRALO Bylaws with the other secretariats as well.

6/ Travel support guidelines
Either Didier, Hawa or Mohamed can bring up the matter of the need to be able to transfer travel support to other members in case the original beneficiary cannot attend the meeting. That issue is to be raised during the Sunday 21 June meeting.

7/ Mapping of AFRALO ALSes

The ALSes will receive online a form to complete with information on their membership, their communication tools, etc. and will return it once completed to the At-Large staff. Staff will then publish that information on the AFRALO Google.map.

H Ullrich will check whether ISOC Benin features on AFRALO Google.map.

8/ AOB

H Ullrich will advise AFRALO through the discussion list as soon as the summary minute of this teleconference are available.
