Jonathon Nevett, Vice President of Policy and Domain Services, is Network Solutions’ primary point of contact with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). He takes the lead in all industry policy development and compliance issues, and has been the elected chair for three terms of the ICANN Registrar Constituency, co-chairs US Council for International Business’ DNS Working Group, and serves on the Direct Marketing Association’s Interactive Marketing Advisory Board and the Anti Phishing Working Group. Jon is responsible for all Network Solutions’ advocacy before key officials in the U.S. Congress, the Department of Commerce, and other federal agencies. Furthermore, he is responsible for developing certain strategies to create or enhance business opportunities, and advises on impacts on product development, sales, and operations. As such, he sits on the Board of Directors of NameJet LLC, a domain name auction services provider. Finally, Jon is responsible for managing Network Solutions’ ethics policy and corporate compliance program.
Prior to joining Network Solutions, Jon spent almost 8 years with MCI and directed a legal team that was responsible for providing legislative, regulatory and business law support to MCI’s Mass Markets Division, which included consumer, small business, and paging business segments. Prior to that, Jon was an associate with Kirkland & Ellis, where he represented corporate clients in complex litigation, antitrust matters, internal investigations, and mergers and acquisitions. Jon has solid, wide-ranging experience in the law and public policy field, as well as the Internet industry.
Jon received his Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University. He also has attended executive education classes at The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
