17:53:34 From Alan Greenberg (ALAC) to Everyone:
ICANN is not washing hands of all responsibility, but only of noticing the overlap. They still must resolve it.
17:53:58 From Michael Palage to Everyone:
Yes it was a brand and would fit within this exception, I was just using that as an example to have flexibility in application
17:54:17 From John McCormac - HosterStats.com to Everyone:
Complicated by the fact that .TV is a repurposed ccTLD that has made a business from its string rather than from its local market.
17:55:17 From Hadia Elminiawi (ALAC) to Everyone:
Thank you Justine for your extensive presentation
17:56:01 From Bill Jouris to Everyone:
Reacted to "Thank you Justine fo..." with
17:56:55 From Michael Palage to Everyone:
@Justine Chew - I would raise the issue of .HOME, I read a recent article that .HOME could be unbanned (https://domainincite.com/29861-home-mail-and-corp-could-get-unbanned) how would these rules be applied since there is already a .HOMES in the root?  How will this policy be applied since Google never withdrew their application for .HOME?
17:57:42 From Michael Palage to Everyone:
Need to drop - for another call. Good discussion today.
17:57:51 From Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond to Everyone:
The ALAC should oppose .HOME being allowed now
17:57:58 From Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond to Everyone:
there is still a considerable risk
17:58:51 From Alan Greenberg (ALAC) to Everyone:
@John, how some ccTLD use their string may be considered inappropriate, but until/unless the rules changes, it is what it is. (and that doesn't mean I support the practice)

18:00:51 From John McCormac - HosterStats.com to Everyone:
@Alan Yep. Some ccTLDs have a lucky string and a small local market. They may not grounds to object based on them being ccTLDs and separate from ICANN. It is sort of an alternative roots issues.
18:06:24 From Hadia Elminiawi (ALAC) to Everyone:
ccTLD PDPs do not provide recommendations for second level domain names, however, it is possible to provide guidelines or good practices.
18:09:35 From Hadia Elminiawi (ALAC) to Everyone:
    Thank you Satish
18:11:49 From Jonathan Zuck to Everyone:
Yeah, we head to "drafting" too quickly some times!

18:21:54 From Chokri Ben Romdhane to Everyone:
    Thank you all
18:22:18 From Jonathan Zuck to Everyone:
Perhaps there needs to be promotion of this concept that people DO, in fact, notice such things.
18:22:26 From Amrita Choudhury to Everyone:
There has to be a request proposal. Simultaneously there needs to be some responsibility of ICANN in the process. There needs to be a balance.
18:23:02 From Amrita Choudhury to Everyone:
    *request mechanism
18:23:03 From Jonathan Zuck to Everyone:
Let's just get gaming into the conversation so that there's at least an attempt to prevent it
18:23:18 From Alan Greenberg (ALAC) to Everyone:
Re gaming, can we please be specific on exactly what practice we are referring to?
18:23:29 From Amrita Choudhury to Everyone:
Replying to "Let's just get gamin..."

Agree atleast attempt to prevent gaming
18:23:39 From Amrita Choudhury to Everyone:
Replying to "Let's just get gamin..."

we understand it cannot be 100%
18:23:45 From Bill Jouris to Everyone:
The prospect of ICANN empaneling a group of experts (linguistics) is IMHO nil.
18:25:17 From John McCormac - HosterStats.com to Everyone:
The whole point of gaming a system is like hacking. It is about seeing vulnerabilities that others have not seen. The important thing is that a system can have that vulnerability eliminated and the damage limited. It is not possible to eliminate gaming.

18:27:10 From Jonathan Zuck to Everyone:
