Forward Challenges Working Group (FCWG):

  • A) The FCWG finalized its draft text on "Making ICANN Relevant, Responsive and Respected" (R3), https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/102640165/R3%20Paper%20-%20FINAL.pdf?version=1&modificationDate=1348181393255. The members of the ALAC have been asked to approve R3 as an ALAC White Paper (poll open 20-27 September 2012). If approved, R3 will then be forwarded to the ICANN Board and others, and opened to public debate during ICANN-45 in Toronto, and beyond.
  • B) The next meeting of the FCWG is scheduled on Monday 15 October 2012 (13:20 - 14:30) in Toronto, with the following draft agenda:
    • R3 paper, the way forward.
      • Will be used as a reference in the NPOC session in Toronto, being prepared by Alain Berranger,
      • what other contacts?
    • Increased revenue at ICANN: an opportunity to serve the global public interest?
    • Compliance in ICANN: should this discussion continue within the FCWG, or elsewhere in ALAC?
    • AOB.
