New gTLDs WG Monday 11 March 2013 AC Chat

Gisella Gruber-White:Welcome to the New gTLD Working Group call on Monday 11 March at 1400 UTC

  Gisella Gruber-White:Agenda: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/x/yOzuBQ

  Heidi Ullrich:Hi All,

Alan Greenberg:WE may not be here, but can HEAR you!!

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Hello everyone

Heidi Ullrich:Apologies for the noise. We believe it is someone on the AC - typing?

Nathalie  Peregrine:Please mute your PC mikes of you are on AC only

Heidi Ullrich:Could everyone please mute their speakers if they are using the AC?

Carlton Samuels:The RG is the first stop for answering any calls for clarification from DRSP

Carlton Samuels:Charter is  sufficient to address

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:you might wish to add it to the charter if everybody agrees

Carlton Samuels:@Hong: RG work is done once the objection is accepted by DRSP. I believe that it must be a new group to be involved in contention process management

Evan Leibovitch:Remember, we may be in a situation in which there will be a negotiation -- that an applicant will  ask "if we commit to XYZ will you withdraw the objection before it gets to dispute resolution?"

  Carlton Samuels:@Hong +1

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Objection Procedure : http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/program-status/odr

Hong Xue:I'm with Carlton on this.

Hong Xue:Thanks, Alan for the info.

Alan Greenberg:May be ifferent person/group for each objection if there are more than one.

  Carlton Samuels:@Alan, yes +1

Hong Xue:one person for one case. But does that person also take care of negotiation, apart from contention?

Evan Leibovitch:Because we are volunteers, and there will be a significant paid staff from the applicants opposing the objections, it may be unreasonable to expect one At-Large member to shoulder all the work for four objections.

Carlton Samuels:@Hong: Person in negotiator team could be different from contention team. I prefer different persons.

  Silvia Vivanco 2:Yes, very well

  Cintra Sooknanan:yes we see it

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Yes

Evan Leibovitch:Avri: I see your whole Mac desktop

Heidi Ullrich:Update re the SARP: We expect to publish the results of the Applicant Support  Panel this week.  Possibly as early as today.

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:LOL -- re: use of braille

Carlton Samuels:@Hong: +1 DRP is not in policy and it appears the proposal is to outsource enforcement, which necessareily involves content oversight!

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Reply comment period ends March 20 2013

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment/base-agreement-05feb13-en.htm

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Isn't the ALAC working on a statement ?

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:with Holly taking the lead on that statement?

Alan Greenberg:I have one other issue I wish to raise - not discuss, just look for input via e-mail.

  Carlton Samuels:@Evan: +1  . Not conne cted

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:There has been one string contention objection filed, btw

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:PDF link : http://www.adr.org/cs/idcplg?IdcService=GET_FILE&dDocName=ADRSTAGE2010144&RevisionSelectionMethod=LatestReleased

Hong Xue:It is up to string contention DRP, different from at-large objection.

Hong Xue:Right, users have no standing to object.

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:String objection filed on the string "IMMOBILIEN"

Evan Leibovitch:avri, how many tabs do you have open?

  Carlton Samuels:Bye all

  Silvia Vivanco 2:thank you bye
