What is the history and background on the survey?

Request a survey of NA  region users to ICANN, approved to proceed at $5k

What is the rationale?

Beau

I believe that there isn't enough evidence to help shape policy discussion in NARALO and NA  in general and a survey would help shape the future directions of ICANN

What is the approach?

Do  a survey for the NARALO  ALS  is very easy, using the Dev T  survey and others, It would be nice to ALS  Survey spend the money on putting together a more comprehensive  BIG Pulse Survey( ICANN Account) to try to do a longer survey.

  Aim is to obtain a arger  email recruitment in Mexico, Canada US  in English, Spanish and French.

What is the Challenges?

The survey will help define the scope of ICANN, Policies, Actions,and more by reaching out to the wider audience, the public at large beyond the limited ALS survey( within reason due to the limited budget)

What does the public know or awareness of ICANN and it's function?

We can try through the survey tool to communicate our finding and try to work on the disconnect about the public concerns and What ICANN  actually does.

I assume it will only be a start not a final product

Request to Allan  on his interest on the ALS  Survey?

I am willing to do whatever needed.  Beau to suggest to look in detail on the ALS  2010 survey

Action 1 Create a survey
Glenn and Beau to first create a survey in Google Spreadsheet for exporting into BIG PULSE( Glenn and Beau)

Action 2.Contact ALS  to complete the survey
Allan to contact Darlene or ICANN staff for contact information for North American lists

Action 3 Meeting in Dakar on Monday Oct 24th
Beau to hold face to face meetings for ICANN Member feedback on survey
