    • Tabled report by William Cunningham on the CROP  trip to ARIN in Miami

Election

  • NARALO  election commenced on May 14th 
  • NARALO Election acclaimed   Chair   Eduardo Diaz and Secretariat  Glenn McKnight
  • Unaffiliated voted for  Alan Greenberg as the rep
  • NARALO extended to May 30  for  ALAC and NOMCOM ballots

  • NARALO election issues 
    1. One ballot sent only in many cases
    2. Ballots were addressed DEAR ALAN
    3. Some Unaffiliated members got a ballot too
    4. No plan B for staff to check the number of voters outstanding

Election Update

  • Leah Smelkyer elected as the NARALO NOMCOM person for one year- Pending final approval by ALAC
  • Marita Moll as the ALAC representative for two years 
  • By acclamation  Eduardo Dias is the returning Chair and Glenn mcknight as the returning secretariat

  • Outreach and Engagement strategic Plan is on hold until Mary Wong  provided updates on the  new CROP guidelines due to the 50% reduction in the funding

  • CROP  trip to  ARIN Vancouver  was not permitted due to the  problems of timelines
  • Leah offered trip via  Discretionary funds,  refused due to  other obligations
  • No applications for   Next two Trips ,  ARIN Barbados and Digital Inclusion 
  • Request to consider  NTC 19 to Chris Modini for Crop Trip 1
  • Feedback on Discretionary fund process  RALO Requests for Funding to support an Outreach Activity
  • Work on the  Atlarge  and NCUC  flyer for ICANN Barcelona

  • Shelley Robinson completed her last newsletter,  Glenn and Ed will carry on for  Oct, Nov and Dec and Susannah expressed interest to take it over


Education Committee  Report

  • We have not met as a group.
  • Through mailing-list it has been asked for topics with possible speaker to be submitted. We have been emphasizing that the topics should be intimately related to ICANN Policy. For the October meeting Jonathan Zuck will present an overview of the 'Initial Report on the New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process (Overarching Issues & Work Tracks 1-4)' and comments submitted by ALAC.

  • Proposal to improve consensus building for ALAC policy
