00:29:55    Glenn McKnight:    The Fifth North American School of Internet Governance (NASIG) and American University organized a two-day event in preparation for ICANN 77 in Washington, DC, held on June 10th and 11th, 2023. The event focused on Inclusion and Accessibility, highlighting the accessibility challenges faced by indigenous populations, individuals with disabilities, low-income communities, and rural regions in Canada and the United States. It featured 12 sessions, 35 speakers, and had 42 in-person attendees along with over 50 remote participants. Livestreaming and comprehensive captioning ensured inclusivity.

Thanks to volunteers and generous sponsors like ICANN, ARIN, ISOC Foundation, PIR, and Dot PR, the event was free for all participants, including ICANN NextGen and ICANN Fellowship participants who received accommodations and meals. ICANN's ongoing support, including financial assistance and speaker contributions, is highly appreciated. These changes were shared with the region for comments and subsequently approved by most of our members, receiving over 70% favorable votes.
