Evan Leibovitch: (16:14) hi all.
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:14) dialing out to you now Dev
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:15) Hello Evan, welcome
judith hellerstein: (16:15) Hi Evan
Evan Leibovitch: (16:16) I came in because I was told there weren't enough Canadians on the call.
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (16:17) back in and hearing audio
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:18) excellet
Niran Beharry: (16:19) how does the costing stack up against other packages ?
Niran Beharry: (16:19) such as https://www.bitrix24.com/
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:22) Olivier Crepin-Leblond has joined the call
judith hellerstein: (16:23) Do we have a list of people who joined each call
Olivier Crepin-Leblond: (16:23) apologies for lat arrival. I am in Nice airport waiting for a flight
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:23) Olivier, would you like us to dial out to you on your FR mobile?
Olivier Crepin-Leblond: (16:24) @Nathalie - that would be great, thanks!
Evan Leibovitch: (16:25) Steve, listening to your tone of voice and a few comments, it doesn't seem that you're too crazy about Kavi. Safe to say you're not recommending it?
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:25) dialing out to you now Olivier
Evan Leibovitch: (16:26) Yes, every ALAC WG has a charter
judith hellerstein: (16:26) I do not think the TTF has a charter
Evan Leibovitch: (16:26) It's not a WG ;-)
judith hellerstein: (16:27) when we were thinking of expanding it one of the issues we came up with is tht we did not have a charter
Evan Leibovitch: (16:28) Curious about the Project Management capabiolity
Evan Leibovitch: (16:29) I think Dev's question was whether the site is Responsive; that is, do they have a mobile optimised interface?
judith hellerstein: (16:29) yes. i agee
judith hellerstein: (16:30) Does it work with different operating platforms?
Juan Manuel Rojas: (16:30) How can integrate this tool with learning platform and icann website?
judith hellerstein: (16:30) especially on mobile
Evan Leibovitch: (16:31) doesn't an app if the site has a decent mobile browswer interface.
Evan Leibovitch: (16:31) doesn't NEED an app...
Sam Lanfranco: (16:31) The challenge for any platform used by a diverse group, in contrast to a well-defined work group within an organization, is that it has to be simple to keep focus on the work at hand. Each of us is using multiple tools across our different work groups and this presents a challenge.
Glenn McKnight: (16:32) What did the test subjects think?
judith hellerstein: (16:32) I was talking about, mac, linux,pc, ios, android
Juan Manuel Rojas: (16:33) What about translating and include content in other languages as spanish, french and so on.
Evan Leibovitch: (16:33) Steve, there's no Flash on the site, right? Recent news suggests that anything we look at ought not to have ANY flash.
Steve Allison: (16:33) no flash
Evan Leibovitch: (16:34) thanks
Sam Lanfranco: (16:34) One useful approach is to have a process moderator (usually using ordinary email) to keep the group focused on the work flow and keep the “to do” tasks on schedule.
judith hellerstein: (16:36) Has the site been tested for accessibility issues
judith hellerstein: (16:38) Will the roster track who comes to each meeting or working group
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (16:41) 5 mins left for this topic
Evan Leibovitch: (16:42) if it's a cloud service, the OS is irrelevant. it depends on the browser more than Windiows/Linux
judith hellerstein: (16:43) Thanks
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (16:43) What I'm seeing this is an integrated approach to policy management ; this replaces bigpulse, email lists via mailman, document files, wiki page for Public comment pages where draft is posted, comments received, 2nd draft posted, and then vote done by ALAC to ratify the final statement
Niran Beharry: (16:44) agreed
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (16:44) but it would require going all in
Niran Beharry: (16:45) yes
Glenn McKnight: (16:46) No idea if the product is recommended
Juan Manuel Rojas: (16:48) sounds as a good tool to give a chance
Niran Beharry: (16:48) seeems to be good for what i seen so far
Evan Leibovitch: (16:51) Agreed. Either we buy intio the design of the cloud service or we don't. Features for them have to be fairly universal in appeal.
Steve Allison: (16:52) I can coordinate a pilot on behalf of at-large
Glenn McKnight: (16:52) I dont this accessibility is the main issue the main issue is productivity of the tool Can it function well
Glenn McKnight: (16:53) Will it be used?
Steve Allison: (16:53) correct
Sam Lanfranco: (16:55) @Olivier The hand holding moderator for the non-core group is often a viable alternative to either customization (difficult) or total buy-in (difficult). Humans will be humans (-: !
judith hellerstein: (16:56) yes
Niran Beharry: (16:56) yep
Gordon Chillcott: (16:56) I see it
Juan Manuel Rojas: (16:56) yes
Glenn McKnight: (16:56) yes
Nathalie Peregrine: (16:56) If writing is too small: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/x/gwzxBQ
Glenn McKnight: (16:56) Never used it
judith hellerstein: (16:57) never heard of it
Glenn McKnight: (16:58) Naralo is still working on their Draft CROPP strategy
Glenn McKnight: (16:59) I guess we don't have time to provide updates on Captioning and Ebooks today
Sam Lanfranco: (16:59) All, Thanks for the discussion on kavi. Leaving now to tend to farm work. Bye
Glenn McKnight: (16:59) I need to do the same to repair 10 hydraulic lines on my tractor
judith hellerstein: (17:00) Not sure why we need this. if subscribe have to get all te events even if you only wnat 1-2
Niran Beharry: (17:07) so i think what she wants to know is if i subscribe for say 2 groups would it merge just those to my one calender
Alfredo Calderon: (17:07) I can do this with GMAIL.
Evan Leibovitch: (17:08) sorry I need to go
Evan Leibovitch: (17:08) The idea looks good
Niran Beharry: (17:09) i think it good for segmenation and merging to filter the events we interested in
judith hellerstein: (17:09) yes. I just did not want to add items I was not interested in to my calendar
judith hellerstein: (17:09) and then have to delete them
Juan Manuel Rojas: (17:11) I believe this could create confusion
judith hellerstein: (17:12) But our NARALO RT people sometimes do not share with other
Alfredo Calderon: (17:12) Thanks
Olivier Crepin-Leblond: (17:12) keep things simple :-)
judith hellerstein: (17:12) yes let's keep it simple
Gordon Chillcott: (17:12) Thanks, Dev
Juan Manuel Rojas: (17:12) Thanks
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (17:12) @Juan - it won't be for a RALO - there would get one link and one calendar to edit/update
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (17:13) @judith - indeed better collobartion has to happen between Outreach and Engagement and RALOs
Dev Anand Teelucksingh: (17:14) Pity no time indeed for updates to ebook and captioning
