Technical Evolution of WHOIS

On 9 December 2010, they convened a workshop on this topic at the 39th ICANN meeting in Cartagena Colombia. Over 40 participants from the ICANN community participated in a lively discussion, and subsequently they set up a mailing list to continue to discussion. (http://cartagena39.icann.org/node/15423)

There was growing interest on this topic and at the request of the community, they convened this follow up workshop.

This session was about IRIS and RWS, as explained by the experts.  Authors and implementors of IRIS and RWS gave presentations.  Two of the presentations were entitled “Enabling Future Directory Services for Comain Registration Data” and “A RESTful Web Service for Whois”.
