IDN Liaison Report September 2012

VIP (Variant Issues Project) phase 2 continuing
- face-to-face meeting was held at ICANN offices
- another set of face-to-face meetings scheduled for Toronto
- expecting a draft document laying out a 2-step process for adoption of IDN Language Tables for the root
- actual IDN Variant TLD implementation process will only be discussed after the completion of this process
IDN ccPDP
- draft process posted for comments
- largely similar to IDN ccTLD Fast Track process
IDN new gTLDs
- there seems to be good support from the community for prioritizing IDN gTLD applications, but ICANN has not responded to the suggestions yet.
