ALAC CIP Small team
Objectives: Members will develop the ALAC's initial Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) criteria and indicators. This is followed by the preparation of an Implementation Plan for the ALAC CIP over the next 3-5 years, based on these criteria and indicators.
The first Continuous Improvement Program assessment period is estimated to begin at the end of 2024 and conclude at the end of 2027 (a period of 3 years), and the second assessment period is estimated to begin in early 2028 and conclude at the end of 2030 (another 3 years).
The initial development phase, CIP Framework Development, is estimated to take up to 12 months, beginning after ICANN78 and concluding by December 2024. This work can be found in the following master CIP-CCG document.
In April 2025 , the ALAC CIP Small Team was reconstituted to include all of the ALAC Members, with the work of ALAC CIP Implementation planning, prioritization, and project planning to be conducted, and resourcing requirements to be assessed and requested.

Our dedicated workspace to edit and revise your criteria and develop any SMART indicators for the Continuous improvement Program Framework in progress.
Noting (as outlined on the At-Large CIP Workspace under the OFB-WG) that
Current Activity of CIP-CCG a 'edit and revision of criteria and develop any S.M.A.R.T. 1 indicators for the Continuous improvement Program Framework in progress (as listed in Initial Activity data capture shown below as well as additions now made)' exercise.
1 S.M.A.R.T. indicators are 'Specific; Measurable; Attainable/Achievable; Realistic/Relevant/Resourced; Timely/Time-Bound' use of these should result in objectives, aims or goals that are achievable, trackable and able to be measured for completion, compliance of 'success'. It is a way of designing and reviewing work (including CIP) that should provide both precision and clarity in the intent and a preplanned mechanism for measuring both progress and degree of success at completion. For a basic and general background see Wikipedia entry
the color coding of each of the S.M.A.R.T. indicators above will also be used in our ALAC working document.
