Additions, Changes, and Fixes

This page details the bug fixes and minor changes in Socialtext 1.2.1 from the previous version, Socialtext 1.2. The Socialtext Help page includes documentation on these new features.

What's new in Socialtext 1.2.1

Contention management. The system notifies you if another user has changed a page while you have been editing it. You can choose to add your changes to the latest version.

Time zone support. Times can now be displayed in your local time zone. Click Settings/Time Zone to set the time zone.

Improved revision history. When you compare previous versions side-by-side in Source View, the changes from one version to the next are indicated in color.

Known issues

• The method to "delete a page" is less obvious than it should be. To delete a page, select all of its text, delete the text, and save.

• The ability to delete a category is not yet implemented.

• Adding a file attachment does not update the page date in "All Pages".

• Page names with an ampersand (&), underscore _, and pound sign (#), do not work properly. Avoid using these characters in page names.

• You can't yet upload a file to serve as a workspace logo.

• Not all RSS readers support password authentication for feed access.

• Links to images in SSL-enabled workspaces are not supported in some browsers due to "mixed security model" browser errors. This can be fixed by relaxing security model settings in the browser.
