Relevant Rules AFRALO Operating Principles 

Art 5.10 d. AFRALO individual members shall have the right to vote when required and the following rules apply: 

• AFRALO Individual members shall select a representative yearly before the ICANN Public Annual General Meeting for the purpose of casting their representative vote in AFRALO election processes. 

• The term of the selected individual members representative shall commence at the end of the ICANN AGM.

• Each individual member shall be entitled to cast one vote.

AFRALO Individual Member Representative Selection Timetable for 2023

• 30 August 2023 -  Announcement of call for nominations

• 30 August – 6 September 2023 (23:59 UTC) - Nomination period 

• 10 September 2023  - Deadline for nomination acceptances

• 11 September - 18 September 2023 (23:49 UTC) - Elections (Elections will be required only if there is more than one candidate. In the case of only one candidate accepting their nomination, they will be selected by acclamation.)

• 2023 AGM [ ICANN78] - Newly elected Individual Member Representatives shall begin their role at the end of the 2023 AGM following the close of the Board meeting on 26 October 2023.
