Joint Session: ICANN Board and CSG - ICANN82

Joint Session: ICANN Board and CSG - ICANN82

DATE: Tuesday, 11 March 2025

TIME: 16:30 - 17:30 PT

ROOM: Regency B (Primary Ballroom)

Questions from CSG:

  1. NIS2 Directive: How will the board support implementation of the requirements of the directive that aren’t part of current contracted party practices (namely, accuracy and validation)? (IPC)
  2. What priorities will the Board have in approaching their consideration of the RIR-recognition mechanism defined in ICP-2? For example, should it help with an AFRINIC-like situation? Can it be “gamed” or “captured”? Should it be stress-tested against hypothetical recognition scenarios?  (ISPCP)
  3. The CSG seeks additional tools to deal with DNS abuse and has proposed good faith suggestions to the Board, contracted parties and the community.  Does the Board agree with SAC115 regarding the need to continually update abuse tools to accommodate new threats, and if so, will the Board support these suggestions as part of a contract review prior to the new gTLD program in 2026? (BC)

Question from the Board:

  1. How can we work more closely together to ensure governments are encouraged not to legislate around the multi-stakeholder model?
