SubPro PDP Final Report
An ALAC Statement was submitted to the GNSO New gTLD Subsequent Procedures PDP WG on 18 Jan 2021 for inclusion in that PDP WG's Final Report. The statement presented the ALAC's concerns and/or dissent in respect of the PDP WG's recommendations and implementation guidance as contained in the said Final Report, in 8 areas/topics. These are (1) DNS Abuse Mitigation, (2) Enforceability of Public Interest Commitments (PICs) and Registry Voluntary Commitments (RVCs), (3) Closed Generics, (4) Applicant Support, (5) Auctions and Private Resolution of Contention Sets, (6) Community Priority Evaluation (CPE), (7) Geographic Names at the Top Level, and (8) ALAC Standing in Community Objection. Interim Report on the on the Proposed Policy Recommendations for the Retirement of ccTLDs

The Interim Report includes consultation on proposed policy recommendations for the retirement of ccTLDs and separation of ccPDP3 part 1 (retirement of ccTLDs) and part 2; proposed policy recommendations for review mechanism of decisions pertaining to the delegation, transfer, revocation and retirement of ccTLDs.

Second Security, Stability, and Resiliency (SSR2) Review Team Final Report

The final report of the Security, Stability and Resiliency Review (SSR2) is expected to be issued in January 2021. The final report is submitted for public comment to inform the ICANN Board actions on the SSR2 final recommendations.

Proposal for Root Server System Governance

The Root Server System Governance Working Group (RSS GWG) will publish for Public Comment its draft proposal for evolving the governance of the Root Server System. The proposal is based on the model developed by the Root Server System Advisory Committee (RSSAC) in RSSAC037. Learn more.

Proposal for Myanmar Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules (LGR)

The Myanmar script community has formed the Myanmar script Generation Panel (GP), which in turn has developed the Proposal for the Myanmar Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules. As per the LGR Procedure, this proposal is being posted for public comments to allow those who have not participated in the Myanmar script GP to make their views known to the GP. Based on the feedback, the Myanmar script GP will finalize the proposal for submission for integration into the Label Generation Rules for the Root Zone.

Proposal for Latin Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules (LGR)

The Latin script community has formed the Latin script Generation Panel (GP), which in turn has developed the Proposal for the Latin Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules. As per the LGR Procedure, this proposal is being posted for public comments to allow those who have not participated in the Latin script GP to make their views known to the GP. Based on the feedback, the Latin script GP will finalize the proposal for submission for integration into the Label Generation Rules for the Root Zone.
