LOS ANGELES – 2 October 2018 – The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has issued a call for nominations for the 2019 Leadership Program, to be held 7–8 March in Kobe, Japan, just prior to ICANN64. The program helps current and incoming leaders to better understand the complexities of ICANN and to develop facilitation skills. Interested individuals need to be endorsed by their Supporting Organization, Advisory Committee, or stakeholder group.
The registration deadline is Thursday, 8 November 2018, 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The registration form can be found here [docs.google.com]. The Leadership Program does not provide financial support for travel to Kobe, but does cover accommodations and offer a stipend for the days of the program.
About ICANN
ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
