☆ICANNのジアロン・ロウから日本のみなさまへ：ICANN64成功のお礼

Dear friends and colleagues,

I would like to thank you for making the ICANN64 meeting in Kobe a big success!

Over 1700 participants checked in to the ICANN64 meeting. 648 are from Asia, with 319 from Japan. I received very good feedback about the meeting overall, which facilitated a positive environment for important discussions.

I am grateful for the collaborative effort and coordination in the lead-up and during the Meeting. From my office, we began coordinating with the Local Host Committee Secretariat from October 2018 - half a year in advance! In collaboration with you, our first outreach activities to promote the ICANN64 meeting also began in October, picking up momentum closer towards the Kobe meeting.  

In my opening speech at the Welcome Ceremony on 11 March, I had highlighted Japan's support for the multistakeholder model. It is this collaborative spirit - throughout this time - that led to the successful ICANN64 meeting.

The ICANN meeting gave us an opportunity to further deepen our engagement with different stakeholder groups in Japan. In particular, the ICANN Business as well as ISP Constituencies express their thanks, for the opportunity to meet and dialogue with their Japanese counterparts. Through dialogue, the broader ICANN community is also very impressed by our Japanese community members’ knowledge and expertise in technical, policy, as well as DNS-industry related discussions. A number of younger Japanese community members also left deep impressions in the minds of our ICANN community leaders, and we look forward to their deeper participation in ICANN in future.  

Let us keep the momentum going, and we hope to continue working closely with you. Thank you for your support to me and my team, particularly our Liaison Yumi Ohashi.

I look forward to hearing your takeaways and feedback at the upcoming ICANN64 readout in April.
