Becky Burr:everyone understands the timing issue. The CCWG is formulating some alternatives to address Board and community concerns. I hope that the Board will be willing to meet the community half-way, but do not feel confident at this point
Becky Burr:but i am absolutely certain that the CCWG wants to find a way through

Lynn St.Amour:yes, it does seem so. They may prefer what they see as the status quo re IANA - but there is no more status quo given the OC communities work-to-date.
Bill Drake:too much circle the wagons stuff going on, in various locales
Becky Burr:seems to me that the Board has drawn a line in the sand on the single member model. so be it. the designator model may be an acceptable fall back to the community (we are testing) but we do not know how the Board will react.
Becky Burr:the board could insist and get its way but break the multistakeholder model in the process

Lynn St.Amour:and if the CWG does not agree their accountability needs have been met, we will be in an interesting situation re IANA, it willbe hard - near impossible to stop the Numbers and Protocol Parameters from moving forward on their implementations
