Background
The Second Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT2) was conducted under the under the under the Affirmation of Commitments. The Affirmation of Commitments (AoC) between ICANN and the U.S. Department of Commerce committed ICANN to “maintain to “maintain and improve robust mechanisms for public input, accountability, and transparency so as to ensure that the outcomes of its decision‐making will reflect the public interest and be accountable to all stakeholders".
The ATRT2 Final Report, producing including its 12 recommendations,recommendationsm was submitted to the Board on 31 December 2013. On 26 June 2014, by Board Resolution, the Board accepted 12 recommendations, and directed the CEO to proceed with their implementation.
