AFRALO Activities at ICANN59, Johannesburg (26-29 June 2017)

• Pre-ICANN59 webinars and 4 capacity building sessions held for At-Large Structures (ALSes) focusing on 4 policy topics: participating in Policy Development Process (PDP), security trends impacting Registrants and End-users, ICANN Empowered Community and Next Generation Registration Directory Services.
• AFRALO members attended the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) 59 meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa
• 42 participants from 26 countries represented their ALSes in the General Assembly and other capacity building sessions during the meeting.
• 30 students from the University of Johannesburg and 30 students/interns from the Innovation Hub Management Company joined the 42 ALS representatives in a Local Community Engagement event
