Linking to Pages & Comments
Linking Within Confluence
To create an internal link when adding/editing a page, comment, or blog within Confluence, enter the "[" character followed by a few letters of the space/page that you are trying to reference. A list of suggestions will appear from which you can select the appropriate one. Once the link has been created within your content area, if you click on it, a menu will appear with three choices: GoTo Link, Edit Link, Unlink. If you choose Edit Link, you can change the label (e.g., to shorten it) that Confluence uses to reference the space/page.
You can also insert an external Web Link within Confluence by selecting the Link button on the Edit menu bar and choosing Web Link from the options. Type the URL (e.g., http://www.google.com) in the upper block and the text label you wish to use to reference it within your page/comment.
Linking From Outside Confluence
Users should be alerted to use the Tiny Link (URL) when referencing pages outside of Confluence (e.g., bookmarks, e-mails). From any page, type the keyboard letter "k" and copy/paste the middle Tiny Link which will always remain permanent even though the Wiki page may be moved internally for administrative purposes.
Linking to Comments
You can also link directly to a particular comment within a threaded discussion page. There is a symbol in the bottom right corner of each comment called the permalink. Right-clicking on the icon will enable you to copy the URL address so that it can be used subsequently to link directly to the comment from within or outside of Confluence.
