2026 NARALO Regional Selections

IMPORTANT: The process for posting nominations (including self-nominations) is as follows:

1) Nominations must be made directly to the NARALO mailing list; 

2) Nominations must also be posted to the 2026 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments workspace or sent by email to At-Large staff. 

The process for accepting nominations is as follows:

1) Nominees must submit their Acceptances as described above.

2) Nominees must complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace) and confirm that they meet the qualifications for candidacy.

3) Nominees are also expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate.

NARALO Selection Timetable for 2026*

• 10 April 2026 -  Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement. (NARALO requires a call for nominations of 30 days before the start of elections on 11 May 2026.)

• 10 April - 24 April 2026 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). 

• 1 May 2026 - Deadline for nomination acceptances. Candidate statements should be submitted no later than 4 May 2026.

• 4 May -7 May 2026 - Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs.

• 11 May 2025 - 15 May 2026 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). 

• 2026 AGM [ ICANN87] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2026 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 22 October 2026.

.* NOTES ON NOMINATIONS 

1. All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate and must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).

3. ALAC Member Requirements and Responsibilities

**NARALO's  Rules of Procedures call for the Call for Nominations for all positions to made by the Chair 30 days in advance of the date of the election.
