2026 APRALO Regional Selections

IMPORTANT: The following shall be the process for posting and accepting nominations for APRALO positions:

  1. Nominations, including self-nominations, must be made directly to the apac-discuss@icann.org list. Any current subscriber to this list can make nominations.

  2. Nominators must also post the nomination at the 2026 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Wiki Workspace directly, or by sending a mail to At-Large staff;

  3. A nominee who opts to accept his/her nomination must do so by replying directly to the said mailing list, with a copy to At-Large staff and must complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).   

  4. Apart from the nomination and the acceptance, additional messages to the said mailing list expressing support for any candidate are not required; and

  5. For accepted nominations, candidates should also share a brief expression of interest to the said mailing list with a copy to At-Large staff. 

APRALO Selection Timetable for 2026*

  • 13 April 2026 -  Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.

  • 13 April - 24 April 2026 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). 

  • 1 May 2026 - Deadline for nomination acceptances. Candidate statements should be submitted no later than 4 May 2026.

  • 4 May -7 May 2026 - Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. 

    • APRALO - Wednesday, 06 May 2026 at 06:00 UTC

  • 11 May 2025 - 15 May 2026 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). 

  • 2026 AGM [ ICANN87] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2026 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 22 October 2026

.* NOTES ON NOMINATIONS 

  1. All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate and must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).

  2. No one who is currently serving on the Nominating Committee may be nominated for the ALAC. See https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en#VII-8

  3. ALAC Member Requirements and Responsibilities

  4. Criteria for Candidates for APRALO Leadership Team Members. See: APRALO ROP 2024, in particular, AP-Adjunct06 .
