Nikesh worked for AFRINIC, one of the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). He is known for his remarkable contributions to the Internet community and is the author of the book "The Internet Ecosystem", launched in August 2025. He received the Internet Society (ISOC) Fellowship to the IETF in March 2019. He is also an ICANN Fellow and an active contributor to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers).
