At-Large Workspace: Customer Standing Committee (CSC) changes Process for Amending the IANA SLAs
Community input on the changes made to the “Process for Amending the IANA Naming Service Level Agreements” are welcome. BackgroundThe “Process for Amending the IANA Naming Service Level Agreements” provides a framework for the CSC and PTI/ICANN to amend an IANA Service Level Agreement (SLA) in a timely fashion while requiring consultations with the IANA Function naming customers and the broader ICANN community as appropriate. This new version of the process simplifies the language and adds a new Periodic Review of the SLAs by the CSC. The CSC may initiate a comprehensive review of the full set of SLAs every five years after completion of the previous review. This SLA review was a recommendation from the Customer Standing Committee Second Effectiveness Review’s Final Report, Recommendation Five (5): “The team recommends that the CSC in close cooperation with PTI develop a framework that could be used to conduct regular reviews of the SLAs. The starting point for such a framework could be based on the Process for Amending the IANA Naming Final Report Service Level Agreements. The framework will require the support of the direct customers of PTI.” |
