You are invited to participate in the sixth APRALO Policy Forum Fireside Chat: “Let’s Talk About Participating in ICANN Working Groups” on 2 October 2025 at 06:00 UTC for 75 minutes, where Pavel Farhan will be chatting with Cheryl Langdon-Orr, Justine Chew, Maureen Hilyard and Amrita Choudhury about their experiences participating in various ICANN working groups.

If you have ever wondered what it means to participate in an ICANN working group, or have questions about how to do so, either directly or indirectly, then this fireside chat is for you!

Our panelists are seasoned APRALO community members who have participated in cross-community working groups, community coordinating groups, Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Policy Development Process (PDP) working groups, review teams or implementation review teams over recent years. Among others, they will address:-

  • Differences between working groups initiated by different chartering groups;

  • Various working group processes, mechanisms or tools for encouraging discussion and consensus-building for generating recommendations;

  • How to engage the At-Large community for input into working group deliberations;

  • Expected time commitments as an At-Large/ALAC representative or individual participant; and

  • Your questions.

Don't forget to pre-register your participation! And if you have any, please let us have your questions on this topic by posting them as comments to this wiki page below; or if you prefer, submit them by emailing staff at staff@atlarge.icann.org
