COMPLETED [35] APRALO Policy Forum Webinar: "ICANN Global Public Interest Framework", 24 November 2025

Purpose: For participants to learn about the ICANN Global Public Interest Framework (GPIF) which is a set of guidelines developed to help the ICANN community understand how ICANN Board decisions relate to the global public interest. It was designed to facilitate a bottom-up, multistakeholder approach to identifying the public interest in decisions, but not to change how those decisions are made. The framework underwent a pilot program - completed in October 2023 - and now offers a toolkit - the GPIF Checklist - for community groups to use voluntarily (see: ICANN wiki).

Purpose: A new APRALO community service introduced in August 2025, aimed at keeping the community apprised of issues/topics of importance to the At-Large and/or APRALO community in a manner that is issue/topic-focused, informative yet lightweight, while encouraging community interest and discourse in such issues/topics.  The APRALO Leadership Team assumes the role of ?editor-in-chief?, providing suggestions and guidance to contributing writers.

Status: Active; contributions welcomed from APRALO community members.

Purpose: This is the second cycle of the pilot implementation of the project code-named "Project RoSI" aimed at producing a dynamic Register of Skills & Interests for APRALO. This pilot incorporates many of the project's 2021 goals and preliminary work (See: Infographic report Infographic report). This pilot is to open to all interested APRALO Community members who wish to indicate they have expertise and/or knowledge to share on or are interested to learn about selected topic and themes within ICANN's remit in line with the ALAC's and APRALO's priorities.  

Status: Cycle 2 of the APRALO Register of Skills & Interests Pilot is now closed. It was open for participation from 4 November 2024 to 31 January 2025 28 February 2025. LINK TO PARTICIPATE
