GNSO Structural & Organizational Review - GNSO3

Overview

The GNSO Framework For Continuous Improvement Pilot Project is a initiative managed by the GNSO Council but which will require participation and tracking by the SG/Cs (e.g. as Subject Matter Experts assisting the Council Committee for Overseeing & Implementing Continuous Improvements, as participants in the pilot relating to review of GNSO Statements of Interest requirements, and to review the Framework after the pilot concludes to determine whether to continue with the effort. 

Action

SG/Cs to monitor, including via reports, from their respective Councilors and through participation in the pilot.


GNSO3 Review (Link must be added for parallel elements)

  • Overview: The ICANN Board has deferred commencement of the third GNSO Review. As part of implementation of the recommendations from the third Accountability & Transparency Review (ATRT3), the Board has also directed ICANN org to develop a pilot relating to a more holistic review of ICANN’s community structures.
  • Action: See below under “holistic” review.


Holistic review of the ICANN community structures (Link must be added for parallel elements)

  • Overview: The timing and scope for this review are unknown at this point.  In the letter of 12 October 2020 to the GSNO Council and Leaders, ICANN Board suggested a meeting in order to hear their views on the scheduling of the next GNSO review, considering recent developments and ATRT3 recommendations
  • Action: SG/Cs to monitor and provide feedback on the proposed pilot when more information is available.
