Yvette Guigneaux: (9/12/2017 21:05) Hi All and Welcome to the Staff Accountability Subgroup Meeting #29 | 13 Sept 2017 @ 05:00 UTC!
Yvette Guigneaux: (21:05) When not speaking, please mute your phone by pressing *6 (star 6). To unmute, *6. This call is recorded.
Yvette Guigneaux: (21:06) Reminder to all, for captioning and transcription, please state your name before speaking and speak slowly.
Patrick Dodson: (22:04) hello!
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:05) Patrick Hi
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:05) I agree Avri,
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:05) I assiume there has been a reminder sent out...
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:06) This is of course not a good time unless your in APAC
Alan Greenberg: (22:06) Gisella had said she could not locate the original invite, so perhaps it never went out?
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:06) Ohh darn
Alan Greenberg: (22:07) Can we try to do an e-mail reading??
Pam Little: (22:08) Hi Everyone
Pam Little: (22:08) Sorry for being late
Patrick Dodson: (22:08) no offense taken, Cheryl. ;o)
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:08) I support staff as part of community ...you know that
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:08) but sadly other rappourters differ in that view
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:09) no
Yvette Guigneaux: (22:12) scrolling available if need be
Jordan Carter: (22:12) i'm here in part people - trying a Cheryl and doing two calls at once
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:12) Excellent Jordan
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:14) New part and then sub bullets perhaps?
Pam Little: (22:16) The recommendations seem to have been changed from numbering into bullets.
Pam Little: (22:16) Would numbers be easier for reference purpose?
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:17) Correct Alan they should be at the same level
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:18) use letters of numbers
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (22:18) listing the mechanisms
Pam Little: (22:20) I think the opening sentence might be missing a verb?
Pam Little: (22:20) To address.....
Yvette Guigneaux: (22:21) i can try sharing my screen Avri - might be able to see your live edits that way
Yvette Guigneaux: (22:21) yes?
Pam Little: (22:22) yes, I think that works
Yvette Guigneaux: (22:22) you're welcome
Jordan Carter: (22:26) I am sort of here, Avri :D
clo: (22:27) agree with Alan
clo: (22:28) also there's no support for an ethics style committee in the ombuds group
Jordan Carter: (22:28) an ethnics committee is well beyond staff accountability in any case
Jordan Carter: (22:28) ethics, sorry :(
clo: (22:29) sorry I have lost all power here, so no phone or WiFi, doing this via my mobile in a windy top paddock on 4g
Pam Little: (22:32) May I propose that I take item (a) to the contracted parties to seek their input/comment?
Jordan Carter: (22:32) Avri I think your solution is more in scope for our work and less likely to get sharp Org pushback
Pam Little: (22:32) Do we still have time for that?
clo: (22:32) Terr
Pam Little: (22:33) I will try to get back to the group asap and before our next call.
Jordan Carter: (22:33) i would strongly strongly urge closing out the report ASAP, whatever happens. I'd rather we got comments backin the plenary than delaying getting this out to the plenary
Pam Little: (22:33) Sorry for not attending earlier meetings
Jordan Carter: (22:34) (every delay now risks getting this in time for Abu Dhabi)
clo: (22:34) Yvette can you let the MSSI Staff supporting Jurasdiction call later today that if I don't answer the dial out it's my power outage issues...
clo: (22:34) agree Jordan
Yvette Guigneaux: (22:34) will do Cheryl
Jordan Carter: (22:35) there are seven of us on this call who are particiapnts
clo: (22:35) needs to go to plenary
Jordan Carter: (22:35) and there's no uniform 100% consensus requirement for the subgroup, as far as I know?
clo: (22:36) yup and planary discusses anyway
Jordan Carter: (22:36) The way I essentially treat agreement to proceed or not is - this is not "the last chance" - because remember we are trying to get to a public comment
Pam Little: (22:37) sorry, I am in a library right now
Jordan Carter: (22:37) I can't hear Pam either
Pam Little: (22:37) So I willl type
Pam Little: (22:37) I don't think (a) is meaningful.
Pam Little: (22:37) There are no consequences for not meeting "targets"
Pam Little: (22:37) so it is simply aspirational
Jordan Carter: (22:38) my fear about (a) is that it's too meaningful, that the org will find the notion of SLA for all services for contracted parties to be far too aggressive and too hard.
clo: (22:39) indeed we did Avri
Jordan Carter: (22:39) but I am prepared to leave it in to go to the plenary / public comment to see what the community views
Jordan Carter: (22:39) if we can compromise to keep the lingo in and move along, I'd be happy with that, but avri might suggest a better approach
Pam Little: (22:40) What if I come back to the group in 2 days?
Patrick Dodson: (22:41) do we have one more call before next plenary?
clo: (22:41) makes sense Avri
Patrick Dodson: (22:41) if we do we could finalize then and submit complete doc to plenary.
clo: (22:42) docs need to be in week before the planary call
Jordan Carter: (22:42) if there is a fortnight to the next call that would be too late for end September plenary
clo: (22:42) so 18th?
clo: (22:42) yup Jordan that's my calculations
clo: (22:43) so aim was October CCWG Cll not Sept
Jordan Carter: (22:43) 27 sept plenary means 20 sept deadline
Jordan Carter: (22:43) 18 October is OK isn't it?
Jordan Carter: (22:45) could we close this out except for keeping outstanding issue/s open? on this call?
Jordan Carter: (22:45) and avri, the note that you are sending - is it to our WS2-staff-acct group you
Jordan Carter: (22:45) 're talking?
clo: (22:45) will still only get us of course ð
clo: (22:46) yup
clo: (22:49) sure
Patrick Dodson: (22:49) i agree
clo: (22:50) thanks Avri, I am pleased we got this discussion done today
clo: (22:50) bye
