Notes/ Action Items Actions:
For those who would like to provide additional input/comment for Sunrise Charter Questions 5(a) and Preamble Charter Question, the Google Docs are unlocked:
Notes: 1. Updates to Statements of Interest: No updates were provided. 2. Sub Team Co-Leaders: Thanking Greg Shatan and David McAuley for volunteering; they have met with the PDP WG Co-Chairs. 3. Continue survey analysis: ACTION ITEMS: Change lock down to 24 hours in advance of the meeting (18:00 UTC); staff will accept suggestions at lock down and note which are new. Do the PDFs in landscape. Also, go from Word to a PDF to show who made comments. Sunrise Charter Question 5(a) (from page 4): Comments from Griffin Barnett: -- There should be a single dedicated and reliable online resource (bottom of page 4) -- could be noted when we go to recommendations. -- Also see for Sunrises, claims, limited periods: https://newgtlds.icann.org/en/program-status/sunrise-claims-periods -- Look first at what the data says and then go to the possible recommendations. Sunrise Preamble Charter Question: George Kirikos' Comments: -- Kristine Dorrain agreed with his comments re: survey questions. Kristine Dorrain's comments: -- We have all of the constituencies well represented on these calls with a variety of experiences, to supplement the survey. -- Some registry operators were in a position where the sunrise was there, but the way the original guidebook implemented sunrise it was cut and dried. Sunrise maybe didn't work for some TLDs. It would be useful to hear some of the anecdotal stories on how registries had to work with their start-up period. -- If you look at questions (d), (e), and (f) -- are we looking for all kinds of abuses, or for abuses committed by TM holders, registrants, registries, registrars? Questions are ambiguous but it seems that is the intent. So, who did the abuse and who documented it. -- Seems like the survey does not help answer those questions. 4. AOB -- Timing/length of calls; extend discussion into 30 January (noting 12 questions left to cover over 3 meetings): ACTION ITEM: Schedule the next call for 90 minutes and see where we get. |
