Board Meeting with the ALAC

...

  1. Can the Board go into more detail about where its stands when it comes to the issue of not dealing with matters that are related to content? The At-Large community observes that the work between the Board or ICANN org with regards to content and without content seems to be blurred. For example, the UDRP review relies on the review of content and is an ICANN policy.  (At-Large Lead: Olivier Crepin-Leblond - TBC)

  2. As New gTLD Base Registry Agreements and Legacy TLD agreements enter into their renewal periods, could the ICANN Board provide additional details regarding the process and direct contact for negotiations between ICANN org and the Contracted Party involved?
The Draft ICANN Strategic Plan 2025-2030, released in July 2024, outlines ICANN’s approach to environmental sustainability, but it raises several key questions: What specific, measurable targets have been established? What is the scope of organizational excellence       concerning ecological impact, and does it include the comprehensive integration of sustainability into DNS and internet infrastructure? Additionally, what is the plan for engaging the multistakeholder community in these efforts, and what steps are being taken to raise awareness or advocate for sustainable practices in internet governance? Lastly, how does the Board plan to ensure environmental responsibility remains a core component of ICANN’s governance mission over the long term?(At-Large Lead: Jonathan Zuck)

Question for the Ombuds

  1. What are the Board's plans for Anti-Harassment Working Group and what actions, plans or strategies do they have to reform ICANN’s processes to handle sexual harassment, including providing actual autonomy to the Office of the Ombuds, with strict timelines.  Do you know that your function and role in the Org was supposed to be reworked based on ATRT3 recommendations? How do you see making those changes during the first year of your term?
  2.  The issue of harassment continues to haunt the community.  What can you do and what help do you need from the Board WG to do it?
