Siranush Vardanyan:hi everyone
Fatima Cambronero:thanks Kathy
Kathy Schnitt:Welcome Siranush
Siranush Vardanyan:thanks, Kathy
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Hello everyone
Narine Khachatryan:Hello everyone, nice to meet you all
Kathy Schnitt:Welcome Narine and Dev
Narine Khachatryan:Hello Kathy
Siranush Vardanyan:just to let u know that I am only via adobe
Kathy Schnitt:Thank you Siranush
Siranush Vardanyan:I will be able to provide APRALO ALSs feedback by the end of this week, as I have sent the request to see which topics are of the most interest for our ALSs, so, will update in accordance
Fatima Cambronero:I sent to the mailing list a few minutes ago this Docs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EZIOlZHaKyHc2wUbNpewf8ivXQxtjNvNGCHG55vJGhQ/editI have collected the topics sent to LACRALO and the CB mailing list
Siranush Vardanyan:already received your e-mail, Fatima, great work
Maureen Hilyard:A very comprehensive list Fatima, its a starting point for our APRALO discussions
Siranush Vardanyan:+ Maureen
Fatima Cambronero:thanks @Sira and @Maureen
Siranush Vardanyan:yes, Olivier
Heidi Ullrich:Hi All, please note that At-Large will continue to have regular informative At-Large Briefing Sessions.
Fatima Cambronero:+1 @Olivier
Maureen Hilyard:What we covered in ATLASII didn't cover all the topics raised in the ATLASII survey - that could be another starting point for this group
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Maireen: I agree
Fatima Cambronero:@Tijani, I prefer to ask the RALO about the topics that they want to discuss in the Webinars before a survey
Fatima Cambronero:*RALOs
Siranush Vardanyan:yes, Maureen, the topics for ATLAS II, as well as Fatima's suggestions will be a starting point for all RALOs
Fatima Cambronero:you're welcome @Tijani
Maureen Hilyard:Ariel's new website will have a capacity building page listing all the webinars that have been made to date.. we could present new webinars that are required, and the IANA transition and ICANN accountability - but we should also look to see if there are any gaps in our current programmes that we need to fill
Oksana Prykhodko:Why they have to be concerned with IANA transition? I really need this explanation. I even can provide some prize for journalists covering this topick
Maureen Hilyard:Hot topics are a great idea because it is what people want to know about like NOW...
Heidi Ullrich:Are the hot topic webinars under the At-Large Briefing Calls or under the Capacity Building Webinars series?
Heidi Ullrich:At-Large Briefing sessions - see: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/atlarge/pages/99713114/Briefing+Sessions
Oksana Prykhodko:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QveiPMmg00Txrq1zLDi9mi7jY_XFxVm5IOnWeHcLUmc/pubchart?oid=1396645638&format=image
Maureen Hilyard:@Heidi..Sometimes the briefing calls can be at a high level - if we are talking capacity building for our ALSes the format, and how the information is presented may need to be a little different
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:I would prefer single topic Webinars
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Just that we should look at making the webinars easier for sharing and listening/watching after the webinar - the webinars in the AC room should be fully recorded (the entire screen is captured) so that afterwards, with some post production, the webinars could be put on YouTube
Heidi Ullrich:@Maureen, correct.. The At-Large webinars are primarily informative with some questions/answers. The Capacity Building Webinars are more of an interactive teaching webinar
Heidi Ullrich:so it is important to distinguish between the two
Siranush Vardanyan:o9nly one topic for each webinar
Judith hellerstein:For those interested in the Human Rights angle, you might be itnerested in the joint program that ISOC DC and GW's Elliot School is doing on Monday Nov. 17 titled Human Rights, Accountability, and Internet Governance. Webcast on https://new.livestream.com/internetsociety
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:single topic per Webinar & 2 webinars per month in which 1 Webinar topic is chosen in advance and 1 is chose according to the hot topics of the week
Yasuichi Kitamura (ISOC-JP):My understanding is the webinar is the tutorial. In case of IANA transition, the webinar can't handle the on-going issues. It can handle just the background.
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:+1 Oliver - single topic per Webinar
Judith hellerstein: I would prefer single topic Webinars and not icann transition every time
Judith hellerstein:Also I think we need to do more promotion of the webinars that are scheduled
Oksana Prykhodko:Tijani, I saw a lot of materials comarin elections in Tunisia with elections in Ukraine. I was said that we can't discuss political issues. In PP-14 we had a lot of political issues. What next to ICANN?
Judith hellerstein:I think people do not come since they do not really know what is going on.
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Adobe Connect also has polling capabilities
Fatima Cambronero:I understand that IANA transition it is a very important topic but not all the At-Large members are interested in it...
Judith hellerstein:+1 Fatima
Judith hellerstein:I think we should combine topics 6-8 into one topic
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Judith - agreed
Judith hellerstein:+1 to alan's comment
Judith hellerstein:What is the difference between topic 2 IANA functions and topics 6-8, maybe we can combine all of these
Judith hellerstein:and make the session a bit longer
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Judith - I agree with you for combining the topics 6-8
Fatima Cambronero:some of you hoy have participated in the Diplo's Webinars? http://www.diplomacy.edu/blog/webinars Maybe we can copy the style of these Webinars...
Siranush Vardanyan:I have posted my comments here, Tijani, not able to talk. I am for one topic for 1 webinar and we can have 2 webinars per month, with one hot topic per each month
Oksana Prykhodko:we have to discuss some topics in Russian. Not with translation into Russian, but in Russian with thranslation into English
Judith hellerstein:Alsoif we post it on Youtube we should use the free captioning tool to caption them before they are put on youtube
Maureen Hilyard:Because IANA functions underpin a lot of ICANN's naming and numbering activities and topics of discussion, it is important that our ALSes understand its importance.. perhaps the transition topic is becoming a little tedious for some who do not realise its importance to others
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Indeed, Judith, that is also a possibility re: captioning maybe the transcript done by language services could be merged with the captioning
Judith hellerstein:Yes it is important, but I think all the separate topics will not garner many people or at least different ALSes.
Maureen Hilyard:Yes that's why we have to ensure that it doesn't overrule other important topics that others want to learn about
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Regarding getting feedback, Adobe Connect has a "poll" pod that can be used during a session - presenters/hosts can have pollls during the session or immediately after the session before everyone disconnects : See http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/9.0/using/WSDAA93B94-7F29-4bd0-A5E2-81D3438BF346.html
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Nov 14 ICANN & Human Rights (shifted to next week)
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Dec 14 IANA Functions & Transition
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Jan 14 Briefing on ICANN 52
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Feb 14 Understanding & Distinguishing among cyber activities
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Mar 14 Policy Development Process
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:April 15 Universal Acceptance of gTLDs + update on new gTLDs
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:May 15 update on IANA functions work IGC/IETF/NRO/GNSO/ccNSO
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:June 15 Security & Stability
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Also, Adobe Connect 9 has an engagement index tool to measure audience engagement and attentiveness that could be integrated with the webinars : see http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/adobeconnect/pdfs/web-conferencing/The_Rules_of_Engagement_wp_ue.pdf
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:the above are my suggestions for Webinars.
Heidi Ullrich:@Oksana, staff can organize a regional webinar on IANA if you wish. We are doing so for AFRALO.
Oksana Prykhodko:@Heidi How we can interest our participants in our webinar?
Oksana Prykhodko:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QveiPMmg00Txrq1zLDi9mi7jY_XFxVm5IOnWeHcLUmc/pubchart?oid=1396645638&format=image
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:@Olivier - what about briefing on ICANN53 for the ICANN 53 meeting ?
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:ICANN 53 will be 21-25 June 2015
Heidi Ullrich:@Oksana, you will need to promote it. We can ask Michael to help.
Oksana Prykhodko:So, my suggestion is - one webinar on global level, one - on local level, in local language. Then, contributions from local level to global
Oksana Prykhodko:@Heidi Thank you very much
Fatima Cambronero:maybe my English is so horrible that you are not understanding any of my suggestions because any of them seems to be valid or useful. I will try by email
Siranush Vardanyan:and some data on timing and participation can be already done based on ATLAS II webinars
Judith hellerstein:Also me
Ariel Liang:+1 re social media
Judith hellerstein:I suggested social media as well. not speaking only on chat
Narine Khachatryan:Tijani, will the same topic be chosen each time for the CB webinar and At_large Briefing ?
Maureen Hilyard:+Olivier about prepared questions, but unfortunately not enough of our ALSes use the wiki
Heidi Ullrich:@Oksana, staff will be in touch with your re the Russian language webinar.
Narine Khachatryan:@Tijani, will the same topic be chosen each time for the CB webinar and At_large Briefing ?
Heidi Ullrich:@Narine, no, they will have different topics.
Heidi Ullrich:the At-Large Breifing Sesison will be hot topics
Heidi Ullrich:so more flexible
Oksana Prykhodko:@Heidi - thank you very-very much!
Narine Khachatryan:Thanks, Heidi, this is great
Maureen Hilyard:I agree that we have to include the RALO requests into this CB programme
Narine Khachatryan:Heidi, is it possible to receive in advance the topics for At-Large briefings? Like these CB webinars themes?
Judith hellerstein:+1 FATIMA AND Olivier
Heidi Ullrich:@Narine, we normally announce them one or two months in advance
Narine Khachatryan:thanks
Heidi Ullrich:Could the ICANN 52 Briefing be an At-Large Briefing Webinar as it more informative?
Fatima Cambronero:+1 @Olivier
Heidi Ullrich:and put the policy development or accountability Capacity building webinar in Feb?
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:no more survey
Fatima Cambronero:no survey. We have a list. Make the selection from the list
Oksana Prykhodko:more and more surveys!
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:no more survey. +1 Oliver and Fatima
Maureen Hilyard:No survey
Oksana Prykhodko:on specific topics
Siranush Vardanyan:no survey, if we already asked what topics are needed
Judith hellerstein:+1 Siranush
Narine Khachatryan:+1 Siranush
Fatima Cambronero:I just received an email from LACRALO raised the issue of different level of knowledge of ALS that I raised before. We have to take into account to get more participants in the Webinars
Maureen Hilyard:+1 Fatima - this does make it difficult but must be a consideration
Siranush Vardanyan:sorry, need to leave now
Oksana Prykhodko:dropped - pls do not dial-out to me again!
Oksana Prykhodko:Best regards to everyboby!
Heidi Ullrich:Thanks, Everyone. Good call!
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Take care all
Ariel Liang:thank you all!
Maureen Hilyard:Thanks everyone, Bye
Fatima Cambronero:thanks all. Bye
Narine Khachatryan:thanks to evryone, Bye
